Event description

Description

Join us on another one of our highly popular guided Yaberoo Budjara Trail walks with our winter event this July.

The guided walk is led by a local Noongar tour guide, who will teach you all about the richly diverse history and culture of the local Aboriginal people and the Yaberoo Budjara trail itsself.

You will meet at Yanchep National Park's Wangi Mia Meeting Place at 9am and will be transported to the start of section 5 of the trail. On the walk you will discover unique local plants of use for bush food and medicine plus hear about the trail’s significance & local dreamtime stories.

The tour will finish back at Yanchep National Park if you wish to bring a picnic lunch or a plate to share. There are free gas BBQ's available, light lunches at the Chocolate Drops Tearooms or more substantial meals and refreshments at the fully licenced Yanchep Inn.

The walk is approximately 5km long and does have some sandy sections so a reasonable level of fitness and closed in shoes are required to complete the walk. We recommend the walk for ages 12+

Please remember to bring water, a hat and sunscreen if its sunny or a coat if it looks like a rainy day.

For more information call the Healthy & Inclusive Communities team at the City of Wanneroo on 9405 5000 or email programs@wanneroo.wa.gov.au.
