Struggled in Term 1 with understanding Functions and Curve Sketching in the Year 11 2U Maths course?
In this HSC Mastery Holiday Workshop, we're going to help you master Functions and Curve Sketching for the Year 11 2U Maths!
In this 3 workshop during the school holidays on Tuesday 16th April from 1pm-4pm, we're going to help you:
- Differentiate between functions and relations.
- Master completing the square and Index laws
- Learn Composite functions
- Apply and determine the domain and range of functions to curve sketching.
- Master Absolute value and quadratic inequalities
Why is it important to master this now?
Building the foundations of your Advanced Math knowledge early on is important and mastering functions and curve sketching and will help you progress faster throughout Year 11.
These topics will play a major role in your first assessment, so mastering them ensures you are able to attempt all exam questions!
The Key Outcomes
- Learn the foundations of factorising, including completing the square
- Apply log laws to exam style questions
- Determine the domain and range of functions given equations and graphs
- Graph functions given equations and determine their domain, range and intercepts.

Workshop Teacher
Terry is a qualified teacher who has completed a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Secondary Education at the University of New South Wales, where he has been awarded the NSW Teachers Federation Future Teacher Scholarship in 2016.
Terry is a graduate of James Ruse Agricultural High School where he scored an ATAR of 96.80, placing him in the top 3.2% of NSW and has taught at Normanhurst Boys, Hornsby Girls, North Sydney Boys, and Pymble Ladies College.
Terry leads our 2U and 3U Maths classes at our Hornsby campus.
