Event description
What legacy do you want to leave behind? Writing a memoir can be one of the most liberating things you'll ever do.

About this Event

Jacqx Melilli, award-winning author, editor and writing coach has heard so many incredible stories over the years and finds that most people procrastinate about documenting their story. These stories will be lost forever if they are not written down. People don’t realise that their experiences will be valuable for generations to come.

Jacqx has a Master of Arts degree in Writing and Literature from Deakin University and has several publications including stage plays, educational books on filmmaking and theatre production, poetry, short stories and film scripts.

Jacqx is passionate about assisting people to document their memoir after seeing how life-changing it has been for some of her clients. Her free online workshop will cover the following topics:

Topic 1: What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

Topic 2: Who will be your audience?

Topic 3: Compiling information

Topic 3: Research versus relying on memories

Topic 4: Interviewing skills

Topic 5: Laying out your chapters

Topic 6: Keeping the content interesting

Topic 7: Getting through the tough stuff

Topic 8: Writing from the heart

Topic 9: Working with an editor

Topic 10: The final product is a gift to the reader

At the end of this workshop Jacqx goal is to have inspired you to get started on documenting your memoir so you can leave behind a legacy you’ll be proud to share.
