Writing in plain English to parents and carers @Rosny Library
Event Information
About this Event
Have you noticed that some parents and carers of your students don’t respond to notices that are sent home from school? Have you come across a poorly written note from an adult at home? This may be because your students’ parents and carers are among the many Tasmanian adults with low literacy skills.
26TEN's new course introduces plain English principles in a practical way. While aimed at teachers and school administrators, the course is useful for any group or individual who works with young people, including child and family centres, playgroups, speech pathologists and sports administrators.
If you have any questions or accessibility requirements, please contact us at rosny.library@education.tas.gov.au or 6165 6448
As this program is currently modified to meet public gathering restrictions, we have limited spaces available.
We ask that you please register here, or call your local library if you need help making a booking. If you are no longer able to make an event, please let us know so that others don’t miss out.
Due to this service being modified we request that:
• You maintain physical distancing during the program
• You do not attend if you are unwell
• Practice good hygiene. We will provide sanitiser for you.
Thank you for helping us meet these requirements. We look forward to seeing you.
