Event Information
About this Event
Most Wikipedia profiles are written by men about men. Research says only 10-15 % of pages feature women and the same low percentage of editors are female. This significantly skews the ways women are represented on the world's go-to site for information. We aim to give people the skills they need to get started as Wikipedia editors and the inspiration to keep going and join the growing band of female editors. From 10.00am we'll be running training for new Wikipedia editors, and then getting stuck into some editing. We will provide names and references of notable women for inclusion or you may bring your own! We look forward to seeing you there.
Computers will be provided but we recommend you bring your own laptop. Light catering will be provided. Due to covid restrictions you must register for the event and numbers are strictly limited. For more information about the event see the Wikipedia project page. After you have registered we will send you information on registering for a Wikipedia account ahead of the event.
