Description

Award-winning novelist and poet Dr Paul Collis is offering a FREE 6-day writing intensive in January/February 2018 for new and emerging Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander writers. Paul will ground you in the writing process from an Aboriginal perspective and help you get started on your own writing.

Attendance is flexible - come on the days you can. All are welcome but attendance is limited by the room size, so make sure you book your spot!

Dates and times

Week 1: 9am to 2pm, 29, 30 and 31st January 2018.

Week 2: 9am to 2pm, 5, 6 and 7 February 2018.

As part of this intensive, Paul will be hosting a Reading Night for all students to participate. Please see the additional event here to book your tickets.

Food and drink

Tea and coffee will be provided, as will morning tea. Lunch won't be provided, but there are fridges and microwaves on site for those who want to bring their food. There are also a number of excellent cafes and restaurants at the University of Canberra to choose from.

About Paul Collis

Paul is a Barkindji person from Bourke, on the Darling River in north-west New South Wales. He studied Communications at the University of Canberra, earned his doctorate and is now the Donald Horne Fellow within UC’s Centre for Creative and Cultural Research. His novel Dancing Home was the winner of the 2016 David Unaipon Award, published in 2017 by the University of Queensland Press.
