Overview
This aim of this workshop is to develop the participants knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning in the management of chronic and acute wounds. The workshop aims to teach participants up to date clinical practice, evidence based care and managmenet of patients and clients who experience various wound pathologies.
Learning outcomes
- Explain the aetiology of common types of wounds and their related pathophysiology with factors that impact on healing
- Identify a systematic approach to assessing and managing acute and chronic types of wounds
- Apply best practice principles to dressing selection
- Differentiate between multiple approaches to managing a range of different types of wounds
- Identify when to refer to a specialist
- Discuss and engage in case studies
