Workshop: Tech Lead Skills for Developers
Event Information
Description
A Tech Lead Training Course
Becoming a Tech Lead is a tough transition for any developer. Only a fragment of the skills and experience you have as a developer prepare you for the expectations of a new role. ThoughtWorks is hosting a two-day workshop that focuses on technical leadership skills for Tech Leads - as opposed to general leadership skills - through discussion, theory, and practical exercises.
About the Facilitator
Patrick Kua is a Principal Consultant and Tech Lead at ThoughtWorks Europe. He is also the author of the book Talking with Tech Leads, an insightful collation of real-life experiences from Tech Leads around the world. Patrick has been running this workshop in the UK and the US, and this is a one-time opportunity to attend his workshop here in Australia.
Format
In this two-day workshop, Patrick will explore the unique combination of skills and experiences that distinguish a “Tech Lead” from a “Leader working in a technical environment.” He will do this using a combination of training techniques that includes presentation, discussion, video, interactive exercises, and storytelling.
