About this Event

What can great short stories teach us? How can we turn our own obsessions into great fiction? This Queensland Writers Centre workshop is designed to help you generate ideas for short fiction based on your own interests. Discuss techniques and writing habits to help you develop, draft and improve your work.

Edwina Shaw is the author of Thrill Seekers, In the Dark of Night and over 40 short pieces that have appeared in literary journals and anthologies including Best Australian Stories. She is the editor of Bjelke Blues. Her screenplay M is currently under development with Screen QLD. She teaches creative writing at UQ and also runs Relax and Write Retreats.

Please note that places are limited at Brisbane library events, in accordance with current State Government regulations. Enhanced safety and social distancing measures remain in place. Should increased restrictions be implemented in the event of community transmission, events may be postponed or cancelled at short notice.

For more information on restrictions for Greater Brisbane and impacts on Council facilities, services and public transport, refer to our Coronavirus: Council updates and impacts page.
