Learn the basics of hand embroidery and how to get started on your own hoop!
Harley will show you step-by-step how to trace your design, prep your hoop, thread your needle, a few simple stitches and how to finish off the hoop so it's ready to display.
You take home 2 coloured threads, your hoop and started design, a needle and a tips and tricks booklet made by Harley so that you guide yourself at home.
You can take these simple stitches and turn them into beautiful home-made gifts for friends, embellish that old denim jacket in your wardrobe, or even patch up and repair garments.
This beginner friendly workshop includes a huge array of simple designs to choose from to sew including cats, cacti, flowers and a heap of quotes (some with naughty words!).
Tickets are $50 and include all materials.
Harley was born and raised in Townsville, North Queensland and made the big solo move down here 5 years ago to pursue her love of graphic design. Harley would sew with her Ma at their craft-a-noons and throughout middle school she started to experiment with paper collage.
In October 2014 Harley started taking it seriously and along came Harley & Händen.
Since then H&H has been published in the Etsy Newsletter, TBCMAG Issue 7 and The Eye Creative calendar and just to humble brag – been recognised by Diplo.
She held her first solo show on her 21st birthday and has exhibited multiple times with Primary Arcade, The Brisbane Collective, Brisbane Street Art Festival, Brisbane Collage Club, RAW and Paste Modernism 4.
