Description

Workshop: Embedding Sustainability in your Curriculum – PD for teaching & non-teaching staff in Campaspe schools

Sustainability is a core theme across the Victorian Curriculum. This free PD workshop aims to give participants the skills and confidence to integrate sustainability themes into all subject disciplines across primary and secondary schools in the Shire of Campaspe.

The workshop will discuss why education for environmental sustainability is important and how we can meet the Victorian curriculum criteria. It will introduce us to some existing free school programs that will help us embed sustainability into our schools, such as the ResourceSmart Schools program. We will hear from a couple of schools who are currently participating in the ResourceSmart Schools program as well as a couple of guest speakers working in education for sustainability. The day will conclude with a workshop-style activity to send you back to school with ideas and resources. You should come away feeling inspired and well-equipped to initiate or build on an existing a sustainability education program… big or small.

Who should attend this workshop?

Teaching and non-teaching staff in both primary and secondary schools in the Shire of Campaspe. This includes classroom teachers, principals, sustainability coordinators, administration staff, etc. The workshop is intended for schools at all stages of their environmental sustainability journey, whether you are yet to commence or leading the way.

There is no limit to how many teachers can attend from each school. In fact, the more the better.

Lunch and morning tea will be provided. A limited number of subsidised CRT places are available. Please enquire as soon as possible to secure your place by emailing s.ferrier@campaspe.vic.gov.au.
