  • One booking only per person per week. Except for Out of Normal hour Classes, as arranged.•
  • Maximum number of people in the clubrooms at one time is 17 including Duty Office - Covid Monitor.•
  • Must have Double Vaccination COVID-19 Digital Certificate or No Entry•
  • No Booking/ Registration - No Entry•
  • No Mask - No Entry•
  • Entrance is through the front door - One person at a time - to be admitted by the Duty Officer. • The doors will be locked, knock for admittance.
  • Please socially distance whilst awaiting admission.•
  • The Duty Officer will check your temperature and you must sign the register and confirm you have not been ill in the last 14 days. A Negative Covid test required for anyone who has been ill in the last 14 days.• Any Member who has previously been diagnosed with COVID-19 will need to provide a Current Negative Test Result.•
  • COVID-19 safety plan requires registration and acceptance of entry conditions•
  • Pay the Workshop fee of $4.00 (please bring exact change OR contactless card payment of $4.10•
  • Proceed to the room you have registered for only - you will not be able to work in other areas.•
  • Where reasonably practical, ensure you maintain at least 1.5 meters physical distancing from others, including at tea breaks. No set tea break will be called, to avoid congestion in the break room.• Use disposable cups, stirrers and plates only.•
  • Clean and Sanitise all tools and machinery after use.•
  • Any Member who refuses to take instructions from the Covid Safety Officer - Duty Officer, will be banned from the Club until the end of Covid Restrictions.•
  • The Duty Officer / Covid Monitor's word is FINAL.•
  • Exit is through front door.

  • It is confirmed club is reopening on Saturday 6th November 2021
  • It is very important you all familiarise yourselves with new rules and conditions of entry:
  • A COVID SAFETY OFFICER - DUTY OFFICER is needed for each session and their duties are overseeing sanitising, taking temperatures, registration forms and distancing. We would require all members participate in this at the end of each session.
  • PLEASE REMEMBER: This is your club and all members are expected to take responsibility for the cleanliness and upkeep of the premises.So everyone let’s make this work by familiarising yourselves with what is required and helping with the duties.
  • CONDITIONS OF ENTRY -

  • All Members need to provide a Government issued Double Vaccination - COVID-19 Digital Certificate to attend the club.
  • All Members will be required to wear an approved Face Mask at all times, unless they can provide a Medical Exemption, in which case they will be required to wear a Face Shield. Refusal to wear masks will mean refusal of Entry.
  • ALL SESSIONS MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE on the Eventbrite booking site.
  • NO PERSON WILL BE ALLOWED ENTRY IF THEY HAVE cough, fever, sore throat, abnormal shortness of breath, been unwell in the last 14 days or had close contact with a known or suspected case of COVID 19.Any person who attends and is found to be displaying any of the above symptoms will be refused entry. If they need transport home, they will be quarantined in the Office until transport is arranged. They will not be allowed back into the Clubrooms until a Current Negative Test Result can be shown.
  • Any Member who has been previously diagnosed with COVID-19 must provide a Current Negative Test Result. The Duty Office will assume the mantle of COVID SAFETY OFFICER / MONITOR at each Workshop Session (DUTIES - Overseeing Sanitisation, Temperature Checking, Filling out registration form, Ensuring Covid Safe Distancing)
  • ANY MEMBER who refuses to take instructions from the Covid Safety Officer - Duty Office, will be banned from the Club until the end of Covid Restrictions.
  • REGISTRATION: Temperature must be taken and the Attendance Form must be filled in on entering the Clubrooms.
  • REGISTRATION FORMS OR QR Code Registry are required by Law, all members must Check-In on arrival at the club.
  • Registration lists will be held completely private by the club and destroyed after 28 Days. They may only be requested by the DHHS, in the event of a close contact occurring at the club.

  • NUMBERS: Maximum persons allowed in the Clubrooms 17, Numbers allowed in each room will be shown on doorways.
  • NUMBERS ALLOWED IN EACH ROOM AT ANY ONE TIME
  • 6 in the Rock Workshop
  • 1 in the Saw Room
  • 5 in the Jewellery Room
  • 3 members plus Tutor in the Faceting Room
  • 1 Person Only allowed in the Kitchen - Disposable Cups, Plates and Stirrers to be Used
  • No sharing of food
  • 1 Duty Officer in the Office.
  • Plus one Member if needed for Isolation purposes, if they show symptoms of illness and then only if Transportation is needed.
  • WIPES and SANITISERS:. Will be supplied in each workshop..... Please use on entry & on workstations, tools and benches. Spray NOT to be used on electrical machinery - Wipe Machinery down with damp Wipes.
  • All hand tools can be cleansed in the Sterilisation Cabinet provided.
  • DISTANCING:....
  • Where reasonably practical, ensure you maintain 1.5 meters physical distancing, including at tea breaks. Tables and chairs to be separated in Natter Room.
  • All Members are required to stay until the end of the session and assist in the clean up and Sanitisation of the Club and Equipment (at the Duty Officers Discretion)
  • IMPORTANT TO NOTE: If members don’t respect the rules and help with the jobs then we will have no option but to close the club again. All too often the same people end up carrying the burden and we really want to see our club unite as a team, especially now.
  • General Movement Member will not be allowed to move between rooms during sessions, except to access Toilets and Natter room.
  • You will need to register for a separate session if you wish to use the equipment in another room.
  • All attendees must stay the full session.
  • Masks must be worn at all times except when consuming food or drinks.
  • Use of Equipment
  • Each person is responsible for wiping down and cleaning /sanitizing shared and touched pieces of equipment - directly after you have used it. ie: handles, dials, on/off switched, taps, door handles.
  • Jewellery room- All hand tools must be placed in the Sanitizing Cabinet at the end of each workshop.
  • Hygiene
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 sec. Sanitise your hands on entry to clubrooms and when necessary.
  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water BEFORE using the Gas Torches.
  • Hand sanitiser is flammable!!
  • Face mask covering your mouth and nose must be worn at all time except when consuming food or drink - Sorry no exceptions.Sneeze or cough into the crock of your elbow.
  • Courtesy and RespectThe Duty Officer is in charge of all aspects each session and all members MUST comply with their directions or they will be asked to leave.
  • Treat others with courtesy and respect at all times.
  • Wait your turn.
  • Exercise patience.
  • No member will dominate the use of any particular machine or piece of equipment.
  • Jewellery room - 5 minute maximum on any given piece of shared equipment - Roller, Annealing station, buffer, Flex shaft/Dremel etc.
  • Rock room - 10 minutes limit per machine.
  • Saw Room - 10 MinutesTemporary Rules during lockdown restrictions.
  • Only fully paid up, Double Vaccinated members will be allowed to register into a workshop session.
  • Classes as notified by the Tutors, held out of normal workshop times if possible, to allow more members to attend each session.
  • No New Members
  • Only one person allowed into the Kitchen at any one time (except for passage through).
  • No shared food.
  • Library not available during this time.
  • Duty Officer has the authority to request any member to leave if necessary
  • You must clean equipment after use.
  • The main door will be locked to deter casual visitors, no entry without prior registration.
  • COVID 19 SAFETY PLAN FOR: Mordialloc Lapidary Club, Inc:
  • In Accordance with - "Open with a COVID Safe Plan"
  • Signage will be displayed at the entry and exit doors and will provide relevant information to reinforce hygiene procedures as in the Hand Washing
  • 6 step guide and the Physical Distancing guide, as per the Victoria State Government.
  • Signage will be displayed on workshop doors stating
  • Maximum number of members allowed to work in any workshop at one time.
  • One person at a time may use each workshop as a passage to another room.
  • Signage will be placed over the washbasin explaining the required hygiene practises.
  • Signage will also be placed at entry to work rooms on, tables, counters etc to remind members of their duty of safety to themselves and all other club members.
  • SANITISERS: A pump sanitiser bottle will be at the entrance and exit doors and members will be required to use these before entering and exiting the club.
  • Spray sanitisers and paper towels will be at all workstations and other locations around the club.
  • SANITISING WORKSTATIONS:
  • Each person will be required to clean and sanitise their machine, work station, tools, chair and any other implements used when finished before another person takes over. Wipes & paper towels must be disposed of in the bin provided which will be emptied after each session. OFFICE AREA:
  • Counter, computer, printing machine and any other items utilised will be sanitised before and after morning session and repeated at the afternoon session.KITCHEN:
  • At this stage the kitchen will not be functional for anything other than supply of hot water, coffee, tea and disposable coffee cups (no biscuits). Club’s crockery cups/plates are not to be used.
  • It would be preferable for Members to bring their own cup, plate, cutlery, food, water containers and wash them straight after use and put them back in their bag.
  • The refrigerator will be available for own food storage and club soft drinks.
  • One person at a time in the Kitchen.
  • All working surfaces, taps, urn, fridge door and door handles must be sanitised before and after each session.
  • Bins will be lined with plastic liners and all rubbish disposed of appropriately at the end of each day
  • TOILETS are to be sanitised before and after all sessions.
  • COVID SAFETY OFFICER /MONITOR/ DUTY OFFICER:
  • A different duty officer each session will be assigned to oversee all sanitising, temperature taking, distancing and registration forms.

    Mordialloc Lapidary Club is dedicated to the art of Lapidary an ancient word for Stone Cutter. Our club continues to practice and teach the craft of cutting and polishing rocks and gems and then makeing them into beautiful jewellery, incorporating metal crafts such as Silver smithing, wire wrapping and chain maille.
