WORKSHOP 4 - What do I need to know about making new friends?

In this workshop, you will learn and practice what to say during a casual encounter with a classmate or tutor, how to meet new people, extend a conversation, and how to spark a new friendship.

“Speak Up!” is a program of online conversation workshops that will support you in your transition to university by enhancing your English language skills, supporting academic and social acculturation and fostering connections with your peers.

Speak Up! provides you with a safe space to practice and develop your English skills, build your confidence and familiarity with the University context and make friends. By joining in the program, you will be empowered to participate more fully in all aspects of University life.
