The intention of this day is to give an overview of the Hearing Voices Approach as well as to support people to be thinking about personally putting this into practice. It is designed to be a day of information as well as basic skills to equip workers to move into an active space of being able to understand and support people with this experience.
By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
• Talk about voices from different perspectives;
• Discuss their experience of a simulated voice hearing encounter as a human experience;
• Describe the origins, history and underpinning ideas of the Hearing Voices Approach;
• Demonstrate application of the starting steps of working with voices.
This course is for care workers, professionals and service providers working in a range of sectors including health care, community services, mental health, homeless, and disability.
