Event description

Description

Each of us has been touched by trauma. Every client holds a degree of trauma within them which may slow the healing/recovery process. Trauma also held within the body may potentially overstimulate the client's nervous system or reduce it’s function, often exacerbating the symptoms of numerous conditions. The process of healing/recovery in itself is highly likely to interact with previous traumatic experiences. In this training we will explore trauma from a systematic perspective, understanding where and how trauma may reside in the body. The focus will include working with trauma with consent through physical touch, dialogue, visualisation, and awareness. Experiential exercises, discussion, and movement will introduce practical and applicable bodywork techniques for working with your clients. The course is suitable for massage practitioners, body-workers, chiropractors, physiotherapists, counsellors, psychologists/psychotherapists, yoga therapists and those who wish to explore how trauma may be held in the body and how to release and move trauma energetically.

About Michael Trembath:

Michael Trembath

Michael’s approach is to help you listen to the body. Originally trained in the USA he has over 23 years facilitating/clinical experience and has worked extensively internationally in countries including: India, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and in the USA. Michael has lived in Sydney since the late 1990’s. A sensitive and compassionate practitioner, Michael’s teaching is gentle but profoundly deep. His warm welcoming style is supported by a B.A. in Psychology & B.S. in Business. Michael worked for over a decade in Marketing/Advertising in both New York and Frankfurt before becoming a practitioner. He studied massage and Ayurveda in USA, Germany, Austria and India. He is seen as the living master of “Samvahan” and is steward for this 3000 year old healing art, as passed on from his teacher, Dr Ram Bhosle. Rather than using deep pressured bodywork often favoured in the west, Ram used increasingly light focussed pressure. This light style of bodywork is referred to in Sanskrit as “Samvahan”. Dr Ram Bhosle, a deeply spiritual man, was the physician of Mahatma Gandhi. Michael trained extensively with Ram in Mumbai, India mastering this traditional bodywork art. With Dr Bhosle’s blessings, Michael has been teaching this work worldwide since 1999.
