Event description

Description

In response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence, the AOD sector is tasked with bringing a family violence lens to current practice.

Family Safety Victoria (FSV) developed the Responding to Family Violence Capability Framework (the Framework), which describes the foundational skill set required to respond to all forms of family violence.

Major changes for state funded AOD agencies include that they are now prescribed Information Sharing Entities (ISE) for the:

  • Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS),
  • Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), and
  • Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework

VAADA has been commissioned by FSV to educate the AOD sector on the Framework and by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to provide practice guidance to the sector in the application of the MARAM and information sharing schemes.

This interactive workshop is designed for frontline clinicians and managers in the AOD sector. This day will reflect on the impact of the reforms on our practice, the nuanced relationship between substance use and family violence and will use AOD specific case scenarios to discuss:

  • Foundational skill set to respond to all forms of family violence
  • MARAM
  • Information Sharing Schemes

The day is a collaboration project between VAADA and Primary Care Connect and is made possible with funding from DHHS and FSV.
