Working With Families and Carers
Overview
When we work with children and adolescents, we’re never working with them in isolation.
This free 1-hour webinar with Clinical Psychologist Emma Spencer will explore the critical role families play in child and adolescent mental health care. Children exist within systems and engaging parents, carers, and families is not optional, it’s essential.
We’ll unpack:
- Why family-inclusive practice matters
- Common barriers and how to navigate them
- Ways to collaborate without overwhelming
- Strategies for building rapport and trust with parents and carers
Whether you're a psychologist, social worker, counsellor or other allied health clinician, this session will help you reflect on and strengthen your approach to working with families, not just the child in the room.
