Event description

Description

Seemingly more prevalent than in the past by either incidence or improved mental health science, ADHD is a common condition in society and must be understood. ADHD is both prevalent and a popular misdiagnosis of hyperactive or just normally active children, commonly boys. Furthermore, cases of ADHD also tend to experience a number of comorbid symptoms and conditions which can significantly impact their lives and therapy. Compounding the importance understanding ADHD is the reality that misdiagnosis often leads to unnecessary medication of an otherwise a-typical child.

Understanding the nuances of ADHD is central to its treatment and accuracy of diagnosis. This workshop details the nature and characteristics of ADHD while also exploring practical techniques for professional therapy. This includes an exploration of aetiology, comorbidity, and epidemiology along with pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.

Lunch is catered for this workshop.
