Please note this event occurs over three consecutive Fridays and by booking you will need to attend all three.

Join author and journalist, Jayne Anderson and business consultant and executive coach, Tanja Walker, for a series of practical workshops that provide women with the tools and confidence to re-enter the workforce after an extended break.

First workshop: Clarity

Friday 5 May
10am to 12pm.

Obtain clarity around what truly matters to you. Be guided through a series of practical exercises to learn how to set goals and translate them into a step by step action plan. Hear from Deborah Lawrie, Australia’s first female, commercial airline pilot. She had great self-belief and determination to turn her dreams into reality. Our second guest, accountant, Melinda Measday, spent eleven years out of the paid workforce raising her three before returning to corporate life. Discover the steps she took to return to a paid job.

Second workshop: Confidence

Friday 12 May 2017.
10am to 12pm.

Often the main problem facing someone who has been out of the workforce for a while, is lack of confidence. Learn simple strategies to boost your self-confidence. Join, fashion stylist, Shauna Currenti, for her advice about what to wear to a job interview. Listen to HR specialist Felicity Leeming, talk about her ideas regarding the job search process including top tips for writing your CV and preparing for job interviews.

Third workshop: Balance

Friday 19 May 2017
10am to 12pm.

What does work life balance look like for you? How do you achieve greater satisfaction? Learn to assess what works for you. Obtain ideas about successful strategies to combine parenthood with paid work. Hear the male perspective from “Mr Paperwork,” Steve Sherwood, as he shares his ideas about using preparation, planning and routine to streamline life. Listen to no nonsense and practical advice from teacher and mother of three, Mary Mockler, about how to navigate the demands of a busy work and career schedule. Jayne Anderson will share the key findings from her book, Working It Out: Career, Family and You.

Let this series of workshops be a springboard that guides you to find the next path in your career and life journey, taking steps to return to paid work while balancing family commitments.
