Description

Making the best case for refugees and people seeking asylum.

In this FREE workshop, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre will give you practical strategies on how YOU can shift the conversation about refugees and people seeking asylum to a more positive message based on Safety, Dignity and Freedom.

WORKSHOP OUTCOMES

- Learn about the findings of the Words that Work Research

- Increase your understanding of how to use language to effect meaningful change

- Learn how to use these skills in everyday life, work roles, social media and with your local MP

In 2015, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre decided we needed to find a better way to talk about people seeking asylum. The centre commissioned a multi-phase research project to uncover and test the ways they could put forward the most compelling case for a more humane approach to people seeking asylum. The result was an incredible piece of research and recommendations by renowned communications and linguistics expert Anat Shenker-Osorio (ASO Communications), Troy Burton (Commonality) and John Armitage (QDOS).

We call it Words that Work.

Learn how to put this research into action by attending this workshop.
