The First Time Podcast is part reality show, part writers' masterclass - a podcast about the first time you publish a book.
Hosted by Kate Mildenhall and Katherine Collette, the podcast explores all the questions and emotions leading up to the publication of a debut novel. Kate and Katherine speak to acclaimed Australian writers about the process of releasing a debut novel and what they learned along the way.
Kate Mildenhall is a writer, teacher and podcaster. Her debut novel, Skylarking was longlisted for Best Debut Fiction in The Indie Book Awards 2017 and the 2017 Voss Literary Prize. Her second novel, The Mother Fault was released in 2020.
Katherine Collette is a novelist, podcaster and engineer. Her debut novel, The Helpline was Longlisted for Indie Book Awards for Debut Fiction in 2019 and her second novel, The Competition was released in 2022.
