Join Sally Friedlander and Simonne Daly for a session to explore how DPE can continue to address women’s safety in the workplace by providing a workplace free from physical and psychological harm.
What to expect:
The session is aimed at those who identify as a woman or non-binary and will cover:
- Practical health, wellbeing and safety information for women
- A definition of acceptable workplace behaviours from our leaders
- A safe space to share personal experiences to help us understand challenges DPI women may be facing
- Support and resources available for those who need it.
Why join this session?
Everyone deserves to work in a safe environment, however according to Safe Work Australia:
- Almost 20% of workers say they have experienced discomfort due to sexual humour
- One in three women who claim mental stress stated it involved harassment or bullying
- Mental stress related claims that are caused by harassment, bullying or exposure to violence: 39%
- Mental stress claims as a result from exposure to workplace violence: 15%
At DPE, our 2021 People Matter Employee Survey (PMES) results told us that:
- 15% have witnessed bullying at work
- 9% have been bullied at work
- 2% have experienced sexual harassment at work
- 1% have been threatened with physical harm or physically harmed at work.
At DPE we’re taking action to build a safer environment for all staff, especially women. Joining this session will help us make change where it is needed.
