Women's Voices on the Peninsula
Date and time
Are you in to help break the bias? Our event will celebrate the work of female creatives and bring awareness to gender bias.
About this event
Mornington Peninsula Shire invites everyone to this free, family music event to celebrate women’s achievements and raise awareness against gender bias.
Join us between 4.30pm-7pm on Tuesday 8 March at The Briars to be immersed in the voices of local, diverse women. Our headline acts are:
Tulliah – At only 19-years-old, Peninsula singer-songwriter Tulliah is gracing our stage. In 2019 she was labelled as an ‘act of Australia’s future’ and was a finalist in triple j Unearthed High competition. Since then, she has supported Amy Shark and played shows with Thelma Plum. Her new EP 'Fre$h Hugs' offers relatable glimpses of a teenage musician coming of age with melodies that seamlessly wash over you. She is surely one of Australia’s most exciting new names.
Suzi – Peninsula born and raised songstress Suzi is breathing new life into alternative folk-rock. Her struggles with mental health issues are expressed throughout her artistry. Equipped only with her acoustic guitar, Suzi loves to empower women through writing and her welcoming stage presence provides a safe space for people of all walks of life. Suzi’s debut EP 'I Like It Better Indoors' has surpassed 100,000 streams on Spotify. There’s a glistening path ahead for Suzi.
Bumpy – Emerging with her own independent artistry, Bumpy a Noongar woman delves into a world where vulnerability is power. Her debut release 'Falling' caught national and international attention and saw her featured in ABC’s NAIDOC Special alongside Emma Donovan and the Putbacks, Uncle Kutcha Edwards and Kee’ahn. A mesmerising First Nations’ Australian artist who is a captivating and utterly sincere live performer.
The event will be emceed by Tracee Hutchinson, award winning broadcaster, journalist and author.
