Event description

Join us at Women Want Adventure on our special Sydney Harbour Kayaking Adventure.

Many of our members live in the heart of Sydney, so instead of heading for the mountains, we're going to explore our very own backyard.

The experience and skill of our female leader Cathy Miller will show you just how much fun a Sydney Harbour experience can be.

Launching from a sandy beach in Balmain, we’ll paddle to Goat Island then cross to the north side to explore Berry Island. Both have extraordinary histories. Since 1788, Goat Island has been a quarry, a military installation, a prison, a water police station, fire brigade base, a biological laboratory, a harbourmaster’s quarters – and more. Once it housed 120 people – now just one.

We will also enjoy a 20-minute (easy) interpretive walk around Berry Island with sweeping views of the Harbour Bridge. Amazingly all within 5kms of the CBD! What a wonderful city we live in.

Women Want Adventure provides the best equipment with new Barracuda AR Duos – stable, fast and comfy with rudder systems to make steering easy.
