Event description

When you think of a Women’s Snow Weekend, what comes to mind? Endless laughs, fresh turns and chalet style accomodation? How about some of the best ski and snowboarding conditions in Australia?

If you’re a bit of a thrill-seeker looking for an adrenaline rush, then the Women Want Adventure Snow Weekend is definitely for you.

Whether you’re a pro, intermediate or beginner on the slopes, our ski and snowboarding weekend is suitable for women who love the snow - at all levels.

In our opinion, a skiing and snowboarding Women’s Weekend is one of the best types of adventures you can have - not only do you get that adrenaline pumping, but sitting by a warm fire (with perhaps a wine) after an adventure filled day of hitting the slopes is a great feeling.

We are heading to Thredbo Resort which is situated in the Kosioscko National Park - one of Australias best ski resorts. Thredbo’s world-class facilities and exciting terrain provide perfect conditions on and off the mountain.

Within the grounds of the Thredbo resort, you will find one of the longest ski runs in the country, and terrain parks and marked routes suited to beginner, intermediate and expert skiers.

Over the weekend, Women Want Adventure offer three nights accomodation in the Thredbo Snow Village at Moonbah, in our own snow chalet and two day lift passes for Saturday and Sunday included.

This is the perfect opportunity to ski or snowboard with a great group of like-minded women with a range of skill abilities. From beginner to advanced, we pair off in smaller groups throughout the day and organise meet ups on the slopes. We make sure everyone on the trip is safe, feels comfortable and never skis alone.

Options for ski or snowboarding lessons are available and can be organised closer or on the day of the trip at our discounted price with our Thredbo Partners.

At night, we have options to rug up and take a short stroll to eat out at one of the many great restaurants in the village. There is great nightlife and places for the group to have a relaxing night after a full day on the slopes.

For breakfast, we’re up early and offer breakfast options in our own kitchen where we can cook and prepare meals. This helps the group hit the slopes early (first lifts) and have a great start to the day. Healthy options for fruit, gluten free and warm oats are on the menu!

  • Lunches (we have a kitchen to prepare meals and snacks. Please bring food you wish to eat on the slopes if you do not wish to buy your lunches)
  • Snacks
  • Transport to Thredbo Village
  • Ski or snowboarding lessons (We will orgnaise these for you at a discount prince closer to the trip)
  • Clothing gear and equipment (We will help you hire your gear at a discount price)

We are staying at Moonbah in Thredbo. This popular, freestanding ‘A’ frame ski lodge (it’s so cute) has loads of character and is in one of the best locations.

Spacious and traditional ski chalet in style the Lodge has large open plan living, sensational views of the mountain and village. Plenty of parking and a central location make it perfect for a women’s group to relax after a day on the mountain.

The Thredbo Village is close to Jindabyne, 30 minutes. When arriving on Friday night, we will check the weather in case anyone requires chains to drive up the hill to Thredbo. We will help you organise your travel logistics to get to the lodge closer to the date.

Note: You must orgnaise your own transport to Thredbo, we do not provide lifts from Sydney/ACT etc. We will help you car pool when we have confirmed numbers and locations.

  • Full kitchen facilities with microwave and dishwasher
  • Lounge has TV/DVD/Video and CD/Radio
  • 3 bathrooms (yes ladies, 3 bathrooms)
  • Private laundry
  • Electric heating

You must make your own way to the lodge in Thredbo. The weather can turn quickly and it is a Snowy Mountain requirement you carry or wear chains on your car if it is NOT a 4wd. We strongly advise you take a 4wd for this trip. Once we have booking, we will help you look into care pooling options with the group dependent on where ladies live. We have partnered with the BP station in Jindabyne who will hire you chains 10% off and show you how to fit them to your car.

It is madatory you arive at the lodge between 4- 4.30pm on Friday.

Places are sticky limited for this trip, with only 10 places available. Bookings are essential.

For inquires about this women’s snow weekend please email Monique at: womenwantadventure@outlook.com or call 0403918346.

We look forward to hitting the slopes with you!

Kind Regards,

The Women Want Adventure Team.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes. All attendees must be over the age of 18 years of age. Sorry, No exceptions.

How many ladies will there be in total?

10 ladies to attend the trip and your Leader Monique. We will ski/board in experinece groups as well as a whole group. Ladies have the option to go off in groups 2-3 and ski where you wish within the boundaries of the Thredbo Resort.

I don't have a 4WD to drive up the mountain. Does this matter?

No. We highly suggest if you can get access to a 4WD for the weekend, it will make the trip and hassle of putting on chains much easier! You can still drive up the Thredo Village in a 2WD but you will most likely need to put chains on (not plesent in the rain or snow). The BP station in Jindabyne hire chains and will show you how to fit these (very easy). NOTE: You ma not need chains if the road is good! The weather can change quickly so we suggest you get these anyway. We will call you about this one :)

Do I need to bring my own dinner?

You are most welome as we have a kitchen. We will be going out as a group to the restaurants to have a dinner but you are welcome to prepare meals at the lodge. We provide a yummy breakfast each morning. We will let you know about special offers in Thredbo for dinner closer to the date.

Do I need to know how to Ski or Snowboard?

We recommend you have prior experience before attending this trip. We encourage you if you are a beginner to still attend, although you will be advised to go into a lesson for the day or half day. We make sure if you are expereinced you are in a smaler group to suit your ability.

Where do I hire my gear from?

Hire shops are open late in Jindabyne. We recommend the BP service station. They are quick for service and have great gear. We will let you know about getting a discount at this store closer to the date.

What time do we leave Monday morning?

We will need to be out by 10am. There are locker rooms on the mountain if you want to ski this day, or you can leave your gear in your car.

I want to attend but I don't want to drive on my own. Is there an option for car pooling from Sydney or elsewhere?

Yes. Depending on where the ladies all live, we will open a Facebook Group to connect everyone and see who is driving and can offer lifts.

What if I get sick or have an injury and cannot attend?

If You are prevented from attending a trip as a result of illness, the death of an immediate family member, jury service, or other reason beyond your control which we consider significant, we will agree to your booking being transferred to another person who satisfies all the conditions applicable to the trip, subject to You and the other person accepting liability for full payment of the trip cost and any additional costs arising from the transfer provided that we must be given at least 21 days written notice of the proposed change, otherwise cancelation from illness/injury apply.
