This Course is 4 x 2 hour sessions for women (only) intermediate mountain bike riders with already a good fitness base (able to ride for 30-60 minutes currently) whom are looking to increase their technical riding skills and confidance whilst having fun on a mountain bike meeting like minded other women riders. The Course will be held at both Underwood Park and Daisy Hill Forest.
What skills does the course cover ?
The course starts with breaking down the technical elemnts of riding being, attack position, braking, cornering, inclinde and obstacle crossing all whilst on a flat grassy surface. We then begin to look at these things on a trail with differnet surfaces followed by adding additional more advanced skills such as berms, reading lines, pumping , log overs and rock gardens which are just a progression of the earlier skills learnt. By session 3 and 4 we will be on the trails (pending the progression of the group) applying the skills in a real trail enviorment with an aim to continue to progress the skill and confidence of the participants each session.

When are the sessions?
The Session dates are Sunday 5/2, 12/2, 19/2 and 26/2.
The time for each session is 3-5pm.
Event numbers are limited so we encourage you to sign up early.
What is an intermediate 1 and 2 rider?
We offer both Intermediate 1 and 2 courses. For the purpose of this course, an intermediate 1 rider is one that can ride continuouly for 30- 60 minutes (from a fitness perspective) however, lacks the skills and technical knowledge to understand the how it should be done.
An intermediate 2 course will be held later in the year however we find intermediate 2 riders are best to have progressed from level 1 to have a firm understanding of the basic skills that sit behind the more advance level 2 techniques.
Is there an age limit to enter the course?
Yes, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age to attend.
What do I bring to the event?
You will need a trail worthy Mountain Bike, an Australian Standard complianced helmet, spare tube and tools for changing a tube on the trails. We would also reccomend gloves, sunglasses or eye dust protection, comfortable clothing, a drink bottle or camelbak (filled before you arrive), applying sunscreen before the session and a snack for on the trails to top up energy levels if required (like a muslie bar)
