  • Meet & Greet at Govetts Leap Lookout car park, Govetts Leap Road, Blackheath at 7.30am

  • Starting at Govetts leap Lookout we hike through the black wattles and follow the cliff edged around the 280- degree panorama of the Grose Valley, travelling down to Cross Popes Glen Creek before following the steps upto the lookout above Horseshoe Falls & the Spectacular Bridal Veil Falls. The track then continues along the cliffline, around hanging swamps and open heathland, finally opening up to the breathtaking Pulpit Rock Lookout.

  • Retracing ours steps back to Govetts Leap Lookout, we drive towards Katoomba and park our cars at the Explorers Tree car park, where we will meet our shuttle bus transfer.

  • We will be transfered through the Megalong Valley. Our shuttle will drop us off at the Megalong Historic Cemetery where we hike 2.2km onto our lunch stop at Dryridge Estate.

  • Arriving at Dryridge Estate for a Long Lunch & Wine Tasting. Relaxing at the winery we are served a delicious gourmet ploughmans lunch showcasing local produce from the Megalong Valley & surrounds, washing this all down with wine tasting of 9 different varieties of grape from Dryridge Estate. We can reill our water here.

  • Saying goodbye to our lunchtime oasis we head back out onto the track. Travelling through a beautiful leafy part of the track, crossing creeks & passing some amazing monolith type rock formations we arrive at the Cox's River crossing.

  • We cross over the river via the Historic Bowtells Swing Bridge built by the "Tunnel Rats " of 1st field Squadron ~ Royal Australian Engineers & is named in memory of Bob Bowtell a local of Katoomba who died fighting in Vietnam.

  • Following our crossing we head west along the track & make a way to The Six Foot Track Eco Lodge our nights accomodation.

  • Once we have arrived & packed our gear in the bunkhouse. There is an optional 30min Yoga Balance session ( if weather is favourable )by the Cox's River among the beautiful eucalypts oasis which is often visited by local kangaroos

  • Swimming is also an optional if you would like to freshen up. ( the Eco Lodge provides everything except showers )

  • Bar is open & so is Happy Hour. Enjoy a delicious slow cooked meal perfect for the weary hiker made lovingly by our hosts. After dinner, sit around the communal campfire & share your trail stories with other travellers, who have hiked the roads less travelled, it's such a pleasure to chat to others so passionate about being in the outdoors on adventure. This is my favourite part of the lodge,

  • DAY #2 ~ Hiking Distance 15.7km
