Description

The Royal National Park covers a landscape of 16,300 hectares shaped from sloping sandstone, bush tracks and stunning beaches. The perfect place for a great group of adventure women to spend the day hiking by the sea, getting fit and having a nice morning tea on the beach.

To experience the beauty of the National Park, we are hiking part of the Coastal Track from Cronulla Warf (we jump on the ferry!) to Little Marley Beach. This invovles catching the ferry from Cronulla Warf, taking in magnificant coastal views and experincing the variety of habitats along the way.

If you're new to hiking, or working on your fitness and skills, this is the perfect trip desinged for you. Little Marley Beach is a beautiful spot for monring tea and Sunday relaxing after a decent hike.


DETAILS:

Meeting location: Cronulla Ferry Public Warf. Drive to the end of Tonkin Street and park on the road. You will need to walk over to the Ferry Warf where we will be waiting for you. The ferry leaves at 8.30am sharp. Please arrive at 8.15am. We must get the 8.30am ferry and not be late. We will have to leave without you if you don't make the ferry... sorry!

Distance: 14km return hiking.

Level: Moderate level of fitness. There are steps and long sections of road and trail sections.

Ferry Times: 8.30am Ferry to Bundeena. Return on the 3pm Ferry depending on time taken to talk + morning tea. We allow for boh options as we may stop for a longer period. Estimate for a 3.30pm back at your car. Cronulla Ferry is a 4 minute walk from the Cronulla train station.

Steps: Yes. There are steep steps, great for the legs and to build fitness: 441m elevation in total.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Day pack (large enough to carry 2L water, rain jacket)
  • Rain jacket. (we still hike in wet weather. You must pack this if it's raining).
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • 2 Literes of water
  • Walking shoes. You do not need hiking boots, however we encourage you to wear these or purchase. Once you have a pair of boots it's a great investment for your future hikes!

FAQ'S

Who attends trips? Our trips are for women who want to meet new people and feel inspired by the outdoors. Women Want Adventure unites a variety of women of different ages, backgrounds, fitness levels and life circumstances. We tailor trips for different interests and experience levels. The minimum age to join our trips 18 years.

I’m not very fit and afraid I’ll hold the group back. Should I still attend? Yes! Women Want Adventure cater for all fitness and experience levels. We respect your concerns and help you overcome them and realise you can complete an outdoor adventure you didn’t think possible. At Women Want Adventure our mission is to empower women in the outdoors. We help you develop skills and confidence to push through barriers of "I can't" or "I'm not good enough" and help you realise you can build your fitness and experience levels along the way. Please refer to our adventure grading guide to get an indication of what trip best suits your current fitness levels.

Are there many women who attend individually? We have many women who book individually and others who like to book with a friend. Attending individually is a great way to make new friends and become part of our supportive outdoor community.

What if it’s raining? Women Want Adventure trips go ahead in all types of weather, except extreme weather and electrical storms. Our Adventure Leaders review the weather conditions prior to commencing a trip and will notify the group if the trip needs to be cancelled or rescheduled. Please always prepare for wet weather by packing a wet weather jacket and lining your pack with a waterproof lining.

What if I get sick? If you are ill on the trip please notify your Leader immediately. Your Leader will assess you and make arrangements to cater for your needs. If you are sick before an event and need to cancel, we require a doctor’s certificate for any refund. Please see our cancelation policey.

Cancelation Policy:

Every effort will be made to operate all trips as advertised but it must be remembered that our trips are planned up to twelve months in advance and may be affected by a change in weather conditions. We therefore reserve the sole right, at our discretion, to modify or cancel any trip, accommodation or arrangement at any time. We will notify You as soon as possible of any changes and they will form part of our contract with You. In the case of any cancellation made by Women Want Adventure, we will, if possible, provide You with three alternatives:

1. A trip of an equivalent or closely similar standard and price, if available;

2. A trip of a lower standard together with a refund of the difference in price; or

3. Cancellation with a full refund of all monies paid.

Every effort will be made to keep publishes departure times and duration times for each trip, but no guarantee can be made and no compensation shall be payable by Women Want Adventure or the operator for the cancellation or failure to meet those times.

Cancellation by You

Cancellation of a booking by You must be made in writing. It is up to you to cancel your booking. We will not regard a booking as cancelled unless and until written notice is received by us. On cancellation the following charges will apply:

Day Trips

14+ days prior to departure of a trip, a 20% administration fee based on the price of the trip will be deducted from your refund.

14 days or less prior to scheduled departure – 100% of the trip costs will be payable or forfeited (where already paid). If a waitlist client takes up the place, a 20% administration fee based on the price of the trip will be deducted from your refund.

Illness or Injury

If you are prevented from attending a trip as a result of illness, the death of an immediate family member, jury service, or other reason beyond your control which we consider significant, we will agree to your booking being transferred to another person who satisfies all the conditions applicable to the trip, subject to You and the other person accepting liability for full payment of the trip cost and any additional costs arising from the transfer provided that we must be given at least 21 days written notice of the proposed change, otherwise cancelation from illness/injury apply.

If illness or injury prevents you from attending a trip and you wish to cancel your booking, Women Want Adventure requires a medical certificate and written notice to complete the cancelation.
