Event Details

Women Pitch is a mentoring event and pitching competition organised by Women as Entrepreneurs. In the morning, participants have the opportunity to get mentorship from successful entrepreneurs and perfect their pitches. Those women who'd like to progress to the second half of the day and pitch in the afternoon at the competition will have the chance to do so - the top 10 businesses to pitch will be selected by the mentors. JOIN us and WIN the first prize valued at nearly $1,000!

Who is the event for?

  • Any tech startup with at least one female co-founder
  • Any woman with a tech startup idea she's planning on working on 
  • Business needs to be younger than 3 years and employ less than 15 people

Purpose of event 

  • Enhance the pitching skills of technology startup women and prepare them to be able to deliver their business pitches effectively to a diverse group of people including potential clients, partners and investors
  • Raise awareness of female entrepreneurship and the importance of gender diversity in startups. Showcasing role models and ultimately encourage more Australian women to start technology companies on their own
  • Build the community and connect female entrepreneurs with mentors, investors and other community members
  • Celebrate women and with an award and cash prize help them achieve their goals.

Flow of the event

  • 11-12:30pm: mentoring session, mentors will help with refining the pitches of the women, and help us determine the top 10 pitches for the competition.
  • 12:30-1pm: lunch 
  • 1-3pm: guests/audience arrive: invited investors and other startup community representatives, pitching competition presenting the top 10 pitches (5min/pitch + 3min Q&A) -approximately 90minutes total. Networking, while the judge panel sits together to make the decision on who is the winner. Finishing with announcing the winner.
