Event description

Description

Deloitte is delivering this event on behalf of the Queensland Office for Women.

Board chairs and their representatives are invited to join the Office for Women and Deloitte for a working luncheon to explore how to bring board exposure opportunities to life in 2018.

A number of proactive boards are looking for opportunities to meet the Queensland Government’s board gender equity target by 2020. Board exposure prior to appointment, has been identified as a potential capability development approach and a way to increase the pool of board-ready women.

Learning through exposure occurs through interactions and relationships with colleagues, professionals and thought leaders. Research for Bersin by Deloitte’s Continuous Learning Model has found that while leaders need a variety of learning methods, including formal and on-the-job learning, coaching and tools, the most important method driving leadership maturity is exposure. Is it also true that exposure to board members, board activity contexts and board networks can build greater board readiness.

This round table working lunch will be an opportunity for you to:

  • Explore the key opportunities for board exposure on Government Boards.
  • Share ideas on how to address perceived barriers and make this concept work.
  • Understand tools and research materials available to support you and your board.
  • Lead the way in achieving gender parity.

Please advise any dietary requirements when you register.
