Event description

Description

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia (NSW Branch), in conjunction with our sponsors, Pitcher Partners, is proud to announce our Women in Pharmacy networking event for 2018, coinciding with International Women's Day on Thursday 8 March 2018.

Until recently, the number of women in elected Guild positions was disproportionately low and to address this in 2017 National Council approved a strategy and action plan to enhance gender equity and diversity across Guild committees and companies. This plan recognised that it is vital for the future of community pharmacy that the Guild leadership reflects the diverse composition of our membership.

As such, the Guild remains committed to implementing an open and transparent approach to gender balance. Diversity is a matter of good business, good management and good governance.

Our forthcoming breakfast event will be held at the Kirribilli Club in Lavender Bay and we are proud to announce our keynote speaker - Felicity Wilson MP, Member for North Shore.

Felicity was elected as the State Member for North Shore in April 2017 following a professional background in fields including transport, infrastructure, energy, housing, and services. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Media from Macquarie University.

As part of Gladys Berejiklian’s Government, Felicity uses her experience and passion for the North Shore community to be a strong local voice, and contributes as a member of the Legislative Assembly Committee on Community Services.

Following Felicity’s keynote speech, a panel discussion will be conducted with the following distinguished representatives working throughout Community Pharmacy:

  • Panel Chair:
Caroline Diamantis, Pharmacy Guild of Australia (NSW Branch) Vice President

  • Student Perspective:
Rebecca Loder, Sydney University Pharmacy Association President

  • Regional NSW perspective:
