Event description

Description

Join us for our annual Women in IR event to hear from academics, practitioners, employers, and unions about the challenges involved in balancing work and families in contemporary Australia. There will be a particular focus on child care arrangements, the costs of care, government approaches to the provision of assistance and insights into the conflicting pressures women face in returning to the workforce after having a child. Former FWC Commissioner Barbara Deegan, now a consultant with Ashurst, will moderate a discussion involving Professor Marian Baird from the University of Sydney, Prue Bindon of Counsel, Dr Libby Anderson, a cardiologist and mother of two and Erryn Cresshull, Senior Industrial Officer at United Voice to elicit the different perspectives on this topic. This is a public event and we would encourage anyone interested in work and the family to come along and join the discussion.
