Description

This November, we’re bringing Women in Focus Real Stories to Sydney, to share some of the real stories of women in our community.

At Women in Focus, we are continuously inspired by many of our community members who embrace their vulnerability and generously share their unique business experiences, insights and learnings with fellow women in business. That's why we're hosting the Women in Focus Real Stories event series, to celebrate these extraordinary stories and the brave women behind them.

By celebrating one another’s stories, we also learn from them. You’ll hear about finding personal resilience, driving innovation, dealing with setbacks, and following new paths – whatever you might be facing, this collective of women have experienced it first-hand on their journeys and they have a wealth of insights to share. Join us for an inspiring evening to connect with fellow women in business and learn from those who have been there before.

Please note: $10 from every ticket sale will go towards the Women in Focus Giving Community which raises funds for programs that support women.

Canapes and light refreshments will be provided on the night. If you have any questions, or to advise us of any essential dietary requirements, please contact Marlee Redshaw at Marlee.Redshaw@cba.com.au.

Our speakers (listed below) can’t wait to share their stories with you.

Our Real Stories speakers:

Clare Elsworth
Founder, BBE Boutique

It’s not always ok – and that’s ok. Clare will share her story of building her business in the face of personal setbacks, including a terminal diagnosis of a family member and the breakdown of her marriage.

Carol Vale

Managing Director, Murawin Consulting

As a Dunghutti / Gumbaingirr woman, Carol is passionate about seeing Indigenous Australian women’s lives transformed. Sharing her own experience of thriving through adversity, she will also tell us about her new initiative, The Morning Sky Project.

Graciete Ferreira
President, Master Builders Association of the ACT

Having immigrated to Australia at age seven, Grace is a big believer in being your own support system. The business owner will share her experience of finding her inner power and self-confidence, and building a business in a male-dominated industry.

Tina Doueihi
Creator and Founder, Red Fern Lingerie

Healing is a long and winding road. A survivor of breast cancer, Tina will share about her journey towards recovery, her enduring self-belief, and how lingerie played a huge part in her healing process.

Carrie Barker

Global partner and Managing Director, the projects*

After enjoying 25 years in corporate life, Carrie came to a crossroads and boldly changed course. Reflecting on the greatest challenges, opportunities and learnings that ensued, she will share her journey to becoming a global entrepreneur and growing a thriving business here in Australia.
