Description

This November, we’re bringing Women in Focus Real Stories to Brisbane, to share some of the real stories of women in our community.

At Women in Focus, we are continuously inspired by many of our community members who embrace their vulnerability and generously share their unique business experiences, insights and learnings with fellow women in business. That's why we're hosting the Women in Focus Real Stories event series, to celebrate these extraordinary stories and the brave women behind them.

By celebrating one another’s stories, we also learn from them. You’ll hear about finding personal resilience, driving innovation, dealing with setbacks, and following new paths – whatever you might be facing, this collective of women have experienced it first-hand on their journeys and they have a wealth of insights to share. Join us for an inspiring evening to connect with fellow women in business and learn from those who have been there before.

Please note: $10 from every ticket sale will go towards the Women in Focus Giving Community which raises funds for programs that support women.

Canapes and light refreshments will be provided on the night. If you have any questions, or to advise us of any essential dietary requirements, please contact Marlee Redshaw at Marlee.Redshaw@cba.com.au.

Our speakers (listed below) can’t wait to share their stories with you.

Our Real Stories speakers:

Stevie Angel
Director, Active Truth

Stevie will share her story of building a business – and a thriving community of supportive women – through her active wear range for real women. Hear about how authenticity is at the heart of everything she does.

Laura Bos
Communications and Government Relations Manager, Clubs Queensland

Own your stories, don’t let them own you – and don’t be afraid of your mistakes. This is what Laura has learned on her journey to overcoming fear, challenges and adversity.

Erin Mulvey
Director, ArcLife

Erin has seen first-hand how women can build wealth, enhance financial wellbeing and drive lasting social change when we come together. Her story is a testament to the power of the collective.

Helen Joy Butler
Sanctuary Creator and Elemental Space Clearer

Helen has learnt firsthand that being ‘sensitive’ is a powerful gift that allows you to become more connected to yourself, your work and those around you. Helen will share how shifting her perspective from ‘sensitive’ to ‘aware’ has been the greatest gift she could ever give herself.

Melissa Hardy
Head of Enterprise Performance and Transformation, QIC

Melissa is an unlikely project manager. Reflecting on her personal management style and way of bringing people together, she will share some of her greatest insights, challenges and wins – including how she made her latest project a success.

Louise Fitzgerald-Baker
Founder, The Pink Hard Hat

Having a positive relationship with money is important to Louise and her mission is to inspire women to lead financially confident lives. Giving us an insight into her own financial wellbeing journey, she will explore the true benefit of treating money as your teammate.

Louise D’Allura
Director, The D'Allura Group Pty Ltd

People-pleasing, perfectionism, and procrastination are productivity's triple threat. Opening up about her personal struggle with the ‘three p’s’, Louise will share how she finally triumphed over them to build a successful business.

Amber Porter
COO, Disrupt Digital

Say yes to everything... and “Google” it later. Amber’s career story shows the true value of saying yes, giving things a go – even when you don’t have all the answers – and having a positive attitude in the face of uncertainty.
