Feedback about the Women Howling at the Moon initiative

  • I really enjoy meeting other women, the atmosphere was great.

  • I really enjoyed speaking with the other women and I think the number of people attending was a good number. I thought it was structured well and the evening flowed nicely.

  • I often feel a bit intimated at networking events but that was not the case at Women Howling at the Moon. It felt like a safe, nurturing environment and I like that it was all women. It gave it a different energy.

  • As I am only a newbie entrepreneur with limited networking opportunities and Brisbane isn't my hometown, I don't know many people. But I would definitely recommend the event in future when I cross paths with kindred spirits : ).

  • It was a fantastic evening for me. ...Very beneficial and very freeing.

The why behind this unique business networking initiative

This innovative women's business initiative ws originally established for women in the Paddington-Rosalie-Bardon area, and has quickly expanded to include women from across Brisbane and south-east Queensland. It establishes a space for:
  • Women who wish to to connect, grow their own businesses, support others and contribute to their communities.
  • Women who are committed to living richly, passionately, purposefully - and a little outside the box.
  • Women whose work and interests may tend to cross some of the usual mainstream/alternative boundaries, or defy the simple typecasting often used to define work- or personal-related domains.
  • Women who believe in an integrated, holistic approach to the personal and the professional, and who are interested in connecting with other women and engaging in insightful conversations across a range of topics that contribute to personal as well as business success.

Why this title name?   Women Howling at the Moon is about living fully, vibrantly, deeply, passionately, courageously, reflectively, responsively, generously, joyously and meaningfully - individually as well as members of a flexible community of awesome women sharing wisdom, generosity and contribution.

It's about responding creatively and spontaneously to the moment that arises, and saying what needs to be said with resonance and efficacy. It represents fun and growth as a shared experience.

All of which means that you can attend and have a heap of fun - with or without actually howling a little at the end of the night!

Meeting topics: Meeting topics are selected on the basis of participant requests, maintaining a balance between personal and business information, and submissions from women to share the benefits of their businesses.  All presentations have a strongly practical/ component and are frequently experiental so that participants gain hands on experience of what the business offers. Recent topics have included:

Dress: casual, comfortable.
Seating: floor cushions and chairs.
Cost: Just $20 to cover venue hire and light refreshments.
