Women Fly 2017: Aviation Career Fair for Career-Minded Women and Men invites families, individuals and organizations to explore aviation at St Andrews Airport on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017.

  • Fly the flight simulator

  • Explore over 140 aviation related careers

  • Tour the Air Traffic Control Tower and see Controllers at work

  • Check out aircraft and helicopters on the ground

  • Fly an Airplane = pre-register for boarding pass, women of all ages, limited number of seats. in the event we have empty seats, standby and walk up passengeers are welcome; weight restrictions apply and weather dependant; signed waivers required

  • Interact with medical, police, fire, military, rescue and other aviators

  • Learn Remote Control/Drone flying tips (leave your Drone at Home - NO Drones allowed)

  • Discuss career opportunities with international corporatioins based in Winnipeg, including Boeing, Standard Aero, Magellan

  • Ask recruitment teams from local air carriers about the positions open now and becoming open in the next few months

  • Find out the salaries, training, and entry requirements for wide variety of aviation-related careers

  • Drop in to listen to speakers at the career symposium presenting throughout the day (topics will be posted) - keynote speaker: Rosella Bjornson

  • Discuss career lifestyles with airline pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft maintenance engineers, aeronautical engineers and more

  • Bring your resumes!

Fill in forms: Pilot Registration Form and Pilot Waiver; Download the WG VTA Chart

2. Food Vendors: Food Vendor Application

3. General Volunteers: General Volunteers Form

Are men allowed?

Anyone interested in the aviation industry is welcome to attend.

How much are tickets?

FREE. The event is free and open to everyone interested in the field of aviation.

What time do gates open?

8:30 AM

First flights will be at 8:30 AM, last flight will be at 5:00 PM

Is there parking?

Parking will be free. Follow the signs posted along Highways 8 and 9. Please carpool if possible. Please contact us if you require bus parking. We will gladly make arrangements for you.

Is there handicapped access?

There will be designated wheelchair parking. All areas are also accessible.

Can you buy food onsite?

Yes. The following food trucks have confirmed their attendance: Mini O's Donuts, Simba Safari Gril, Tia Taquerias Tacos, PVG's Breakfast Club, The Cooler Crew, The Lemon, The Poutine King, KYU Grill, The Meltdown

You can also purchase a Manitoba 99s water bottle onsite to fill with water.

We encourage you to bring your own water bottle to reduce garbage.

What is your pet policy?

No Pets allowed. Service animals are allowed. Please be advised that your service animal may be subjected to loud and startling aircraft related sounds.

Can I fly to the event?

You are welcome to fly your own aircraft into the St Andrew’s Airport. Pilots, please refer to the NOTAM for details. If you are interested in flying for our event, please see our volunteer page.

Is there a debit machine onsite?

No. All the merchandise that will be sold at the event, raffle tickets and food are cash only.

Can I bring my resume?

We encourage you to bring your resume. Organizations that will be onsite will be recruiting for jobs and training. There will be over 140 aviation related careers being showcased at the event.

How do I get a free flight?

We would like you to pre-register during one of the many timeslots being offered. The flight will be approximately 30 minutes in duration. Please be prepared to fly. This means that if you are prone to motion sickness; please do not eat prior to your flight, or take medication required to reduce nausea. Be advised that age and weight restrictions may be applied.

How long is the tower tour?

The tower tour will be approximately 30 minutes and will take up to eight people at a time.

Can I take picture onsite?

We encourage you to bring your own camera and enjoy all the static displays that will be available to you.
