About this Event
Who: Wollongong 5x5
What: To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, we're turning purple and hosting a weekly walk from Monday 22nd February to Monday 22nd March 2021.
5×5 is a free, non-competitive community walking event for people at all levels of fitness and ability. Participants walk and talk over a 5km course (or comfortable distance) one morning a week for 5 weeks.
When: 5 consecutive Monday mornings:
- Monday 22nd February, 9.00am – 11.00am
- Monday 1st March, 9.00am – 11.00am
- Monday 8th March, 9.00am – 11.00am
- Monday 15th March, 9.00am – 11.00am
- Monday 22nd March, 9.00am – 11.00am
Where: Stuart Park, North Wollongong - Meet at the Corner of Cliff Road & George Hanley Drive
Cost: FREE
Things you need to know:
- PLEASE BRING: Water bottle and hat.
- Parking available, however please consider sustainable transport options such as walking, cycling or catching the bus.
COVID-19: Healthy Cities Illawarra will enforce COVID-19 guidelines for the safety of staff, volunteers and participants. These procedures are based around social distancing, hygiene, cleaning and record-keeping. Participants may not attend our walking event if they have any of the following:
- Close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days.
- Travelled to Australia from overseas or have been in close contact with someone who has arrived in Australia in the past 14 days.
- COVID-19 symptoms: Fever or acute respiratory infection (e.g. shortness of breath or cough) with or without fever.
