Wolfram Mathematica for Science
Fri. 14 October 2016, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm AEDT
This hands-on training will demonstrate to teachers how Wolfram Mathematica will allow them to easily create effective links between components of the Victorian Curriculum and real world learning such as such as Usain Bolt’s 100m sprint and the Big Bang theory.
Teachers will receive an introduction to the Wolfram language and take home classroom ready resources developed specifically for Level 10 of the Victorian Curriculum.
No prior knowledge of Mathematica is needed but you will be required to have the software installed on our laptop for the session (support will be provided to install software).
Brian Hodgson has prepared material and will run the sessions on behalf of the Department of Education and Training. Brian is an ex mathematics and science teacher who has curriculum development experience with the VCAA and worked as a mentor in the trail of Mathematica for examinations of Math Methods.
