Event description

Description

Are you aiming to inspire and encourage your female students or daughter in years 8 - 10 to pursue science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM)? Australia continues to lose talented females at all stages of the STEM pipeline, so we're hosting a series of STEM and entrepreneurship showcase days to demystify the career opportunities available to young women who study STEM.

Join us to learn how STEM provides girls with a platform of skills to launch a wide range of rewarding careers in research, education, business leadership and entrepreneurship. Parents, teachers and students will hear from successful STEM professional Kate Brooks at the keynote lecture and join in a Q&A session with a diverse panel of inspiring and high-achieving women with STEM qualifications. Students will also participate in exciting activities, while one of Murdoch’s leading researchers will hold a focus group session with teachers and parents.

If you are from a regional school, you can apply for a $1000 in funding for your school to cover the cost of travel to Perth.

Secure your place by registering your class or daughter by Friday 29 June. If you can’t attend this showcase, register your interest to attend our November WISE Women Showcase events by emailing outreach@murdoch.edu.au.
