Description

Behind the Changes

Wirreanda Secondary School has launched into a considerable and exciting change journey to ensure the needs of students and staff, 17 years into the 21st century, is responsive to the world we live in and the future on our doorstep. This has compelled several significant changes including a new timetable structure and new curriculum options which continue to challenge how, why and when learning happens.

This has been driven by the needs of students and the best pedagogical approaches to facilitate deep learning, critical and creative thinking and collaboration. Our new structures engage staff in differentiated and optional PD opportunities, underpinned by a commitment to online collaboration and effective use of the digital tools we now have at our disposal as professionals. Gone are traditional compulsory meetings, instead staff have choice and short frequent “huddles” and optional PD. This event provides an opportunity to get an insight into what is, 'Behind the Changes'.

Why attend a TeachMEET?

We believe powerful learners grow from sharing their experiences and powerful practice evolves when we share our practice. At Wirreanda Secondary School, we intentionally create opportunities for this. One example is our TeachMEET events at the end of each term, providing opportunity for staff and students to learn from and be inspired by one another!

What’s a TeachMEET?

A TeachMEET is an informal event for everyday educators to demonstrate practice, innovations, reflect on experiences or personal insights in teaching and learning. It is a great networking opportunity intended to be exciting and fun! This TeachMEET event will feature many diverse presentations and workshops with a range of sessions run by teachers from our PBL (Project Based Learning) program.
