Event description

Description

An important application of the Internet of Things (IoT) involves the ability to collect data from distributed instrumentation and feed this back to data analytical platforms, to provide a view of the operating world (in all its shapes and sizes). A critical element is the connectivity piece between the instruments and the data aggregation point. Narrowband wireless is emerging as the preferred technology to provide this connectivity. Curtin’s Bentley campus is now equipped with one of the first large scale LoRa narrowband wireless networks here in Perth.

Come along and hear how this new capability is driving a range of IoT projects and how it may assist with your next research project. Light refreshments provided.
