Noongar Boodja is a 35-minute documentary film made by young Aboriginal people from Albany. This stunning cinematic story explores with Menang Elders significant cultural places and the meaning behind their Noongar names. Its first public screening received a standing ovation from the 700-strong Albany audience and since the screening there has been a wave of support for dual place naming, which was argued strongly by Elders in the film. Noongar Boodja was developed as part of CAN's Place Names project that draws on Professor Len Collard's long-term research.

The NAIDOC week screening of Noongar Boodja will be followed by a Q&A with the people behind the film and project. Come and share in this powerful story and discuss the value of dual naming on Noongar country.
