WINTERarts: Nature under the Microscope - Children's Workshop
Event Information
Description
What makes a butterfly’s wings special? And what are seashells made of? Come see for yourself and get excited about science!
Viewing the natural world under a microscope is a never-ending source of fascination for children and adults alike. Learn to use a binocular microscope to examine nature right up close. Participants will collect material from the University’s gardens to examine under the microscope, as well as be given butterfly wings, minerals and seashells to look at. All children will be given an amethyst crystal to examine and then take home.
Parents/caregivers are welcome to either leave participants or stay for the workshop.
Suitable for children aged 8-12.
