Discover the hidden secrets and forgotten spaces of UWA’s historic Crawley campus in this tour through the iconic Hackett Memorial buildings.

Did you know there are hidden air raid shelters beneath UWA’s Winthrop Hall? Have you ever wondered what it’s like behind the doors and through the corridors of UWA’s iconic sandstone buildings?

Join Terry Larder at the acclaimed Hans Arkveld sculpture outside the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery and wander through the Sunken Garden, a former quarry where sand was taken to help make the limestone joints in the construction of the Hackett Memorial buildings (1926-1932). As Terry takes you through the portrait lined Senate room, the Chancellor’s room, across the Great Gate into Winthrop Hall and down into its underbelly, he will regale you will historical stories and insider tales.

Please meet at the entrance to LWAG. Suitable for ages 8+
