About this event

Housed in a smart Modernist building with a stylish curved façade and al fresco dining, Bei is the latest bar & bistro in the Taylor Square precinct where our Darlinghurst dining tour begins. A contemporary dining room with a Scandinavian design vibe, featuring a seasonal Italian/Mediterranean menu. Located a few steps from the famous Darlinghurst Rainbow crossing and the high-energy pulse of Oxford Street.

You can feel the grit that holds together this nightlife precinct building on its rich history of gay-culture and the darker side of Sydney’s nightlife. Accompanied by a well-connected guide, our walks are aimed at visitors and Sydneysiders who want to go ‘where the locals go’ for inspiring food, good service and cool interiors. We take bookings for between 2 - 6 Guests per booking and visit 3 - 4 venues on each walk. Enjoying a different course at each venue accompanied by matching wine at the first three venues.

Our Darlinghurst dining tour starts at Bei situated a few steps from the famous Darlinghurst Rainbow crossing and pulsing Oxford Street.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in the booking price?

A four course set-menu of food & beverages, including a welcome cocktail and two glasses of wine. The wonderful company of your local guide who tells fabulous stories and anecdotes about the restaurants, people and precinct.

Are there non-alcoholic options available to drink?

Yes there are some great non-alcoholic alternatives available including mocktails, wine and soft drinks on all our menus, if you prefer not to drink alcohol. Please notify us when booking or on arrival so we can order accordingly.

Are you able to cater for special dietary needs?

Yes please tick the appropriate box in the bookings form. We are able to cater for most dietary requests including: vegetarian, allergies, gluten intolerance and dairy intolerance.

What if we want to go on a Darlinghurst Dining Tour on another night of the week?

If you book a private tour we can go any night of the week. Please contact us via email at least 2 weeks out - if possible - so we can check our availability.

Is the starting point for each dining walk near public transport?

Yes all of our starting points are no more than a 10 minute walk from a train station or bus stop.

What should I wear?

Although Sydney is a casual & relaxed city we encourage our guests to dress for dinner as we will be dining in some pretty trendy places.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to book the tour?

Because we are visiting licensed drinking establishments our dining tours are only for 18+ aged guests, unless otherwise negotiated prior to booking. If traveling with young adults make sure they bring relevant ID in case they are asked for it as New South Wales has strict licensing laws.

What is the difference between a group and a private booking?

Group bookings include all of the above and other travellers may join the group with a maximum of ten guests per group. You will need to meet us at the first venue. Private bookings are for you and your crew only. We will even throw in a no-cost option of an Uber pick-up from your inner city hotel!

Are your dining tours accessible for everyone?

Certainly - as long you let us know in advance - we can choose flat terrain and easy access venues for people with disability.
