DESCRIPTION

Creative polymath William Morris (1834–1896) founded the Kelmscott Press in the latter years of his life to publish limited-edition illustrated books with a ‘definite claim to beauty’. His designs are influenced by medieval manuscripts and the Arts and Crafts movement, of which he was a key figure.

Join us for a presentation of rare books from the Library’s William Morris/Kelmscott Press collection. In addition to a presentation and viewing, two contemporary independent publishers will discuss producing illustrated editions.
