Event description

Description

As part of her Creative in Residence Program with the Northern Territory Archive Service, Darwin singer songwriter Tracey Bunn will host a series of intimate performances by local women songwriters who will present their songs with personal insight into how they were written and the inspiration behind them.

These FREE events will be held at the NT Archive Centre on Tuesday evenings from 5.30 - 7.00pm from Mar 5th for 6 dates.

Mar 5 - Serina Pech
Mar 12 - Bridey Rose
Mar 19 - Lilla Wellington
April 16 - Kate Oliver
April 23 - Melanie Gray
April 30 - Rachel Rachel

For those of you interested in the art of songwriting and the mystery behind it, there will also be a series of workshops, focussed on the beginner, after the performance.
Topics we will cover range from finding ideas, the song structure, writers block, melody and meter with examples of how each applies to the songwriter performing on that evening.

Bring along your songs, poetry or any kind of writing you’d like some feedback on, or just your curious self.
Most of all come along and support some amazing local women songwriters for a fun evening of music and words.
