Wild Things: Spotlighting Night Walk
Tuesday, 31 January 2017 from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm (AEDT)
What: Spotlighting Night Walk
Where: Hawthorne St Natural Area, Ramsgate, meet at Syd Frost Memorial Hall, 7 Hawthorne St
When: Tuesday 31 January, 8:00 - 9:30pm
The Hawthorne St Natural Area is a small remnant of a unique bushland community called Kurnell Dune Forest, that is home to a suprising amount of wildlife, including several frog species, owls, possums and microbats.
For this night walk we'll meet at the Syd Frost Hall for a short talk on some of the wildlife we hope to see and then we'll take a walk through the reserve spot lighting as we go. On our last walk we heard three different types of frogs and microbats, spotted several flying foxes, two possums, a boobok owl, a tawny frogmouth and a fox.
Due to the late start time of this walk and the darkness, it is suggested that this event is not suitable for children under 8. Please bring a head torch or hand torch and wear mosquito repellent and covered footwear.
Wild Things has been assisted by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust.
