Description

What: Real Birds Eat Squid - The Case of our Disappearing Seabirds
When: Thursday 5 October 6:30 - 7:45pm
Where: Rockdale Library 444 - 446 Princes Highway Rockdale
Cost: Free

Seabirds are amongst the most endangered creatures in world. Why is this so and why do we hear so little of their plight? Is it a case of out of sight, out of mind and what does their decline tell us about the planet and our own future? What are these buggers doing to this poor albatross anyway?

Chris Lloyd who will be presenting this talk, has been working in seabird research for over a decade with both the Southern Ocean Seabird Study Association and the Australian Seabird Group, including many a day at sea and offshore islands. He has also rescued and rehabilitated many of these species, as well as developing and delivering training courses on the subject.

So come along and have a listen to what makes albatross and their mates of the deep ocean tick.

Wild Things has been assisted by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust.
