While we associate much of our birdlife with the larger expanses of Australia our urban environment is equally fascinating and equally as important. At this workshop Judy Christie from BirdLife Australia will tell the story of our urban birds, how to identify them and how to create bird-friendly spaces in your garden.
Judy’s talk will be followed by a hands-on workshop were you will put together a bird nest box to take home and install in your backyard.
Note: Birds in Backyards is not suitable for children under 8 years of age. Older children attending the nest box workshop must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
Bayside Council's Wild Things Program is all about helping our native wildlife to survive in the city, by creating habitat for frogs, birds, microbats, reptiles and native bees in our urban backyards.
